XDefiant undeniably takes a great deal of inspiration from Call of Duty, the shooter which cemented Team Deathmatch as an FPS staple. It's no wonder then that players are curious about an XDefiant Team Deathmatch mode.

No matter what mode you're playing, you'll want to bring the best XDefiant guns and best XDefiant loadouts with you. The competition can be tough even if you're not playing in the dedicated XDefiant Ranked mode.

Does XDefiant Have Team Deathmatch?

Sadly, XDefiant does not have a dedicated Team Deathmatch mode. Ubisoft has excluded one of the most popular FPS modes in favor of more complex, objective modes like Hotshot and Escort.

XDefiant emphasizes the unique abilities and traits of characters from across Ubisoft's IPs, embodying the XDefiant Factions and classes. These are designed with teamwork and objectives in mind, rather than the lone wolf slaying that is often found in TDM. As such, the developers believe a pure elimination mode won’t exactly utilize the game’s diverse strengths.

Luckily, the developers did not shy away from giving players an experience worth having. There is a diverse range of XDefiant maps and game modes. One of them is quite similar to a TDM, and the rest are just fun to play. Here are some alternatives if you were hoping to play TDM in XDefiant:

Enter Hotshot

The Hotshot game mode is an alternative to the normal Team Deathmatch. It captures the essence of TDM while incorporating objectives. In this game mode, players eliminate enemies to collect bounty tokes. If you manage to get the most bounty tokens, you are the 'Hotshot'.

This allows you to gain a temporary power boost eventually making the game mode that much more interesting.

Explosive Domination

Another interesting game mode in XDefiant is Domination. This game mode is quite challenging as players fight to take control of three designated objectives on the map. The gameplay gets adrenaline pumping throughout the duration of the game as you capture and recapture objectives.

Get Ready to Occupy

Occupy is another exciting game mode that works in the same way as Hardpoint does in Call of Duty. The zone changes every 60 seconds, encouraging teams to move around and set up defenses on the point. The first team to get 250 points wins the game. This game mode encourages players to strategize their moves. Occupy is an amazing alternative to the TDM.

Even though there isn't a Team Deathmatch mode in XDefiant, it makes up for it by putting out an amazing playlist for you to enjoy. Before diving in, get up to speed with the XDefiant meta so you know what's good and what's not.
